Bento Lunch box - Makie Bento book

The Makie Bento book collection are lunch boxes shaped like a book,  evocative of the traditional Maki-e lacquering technique, where the motifs are decorated with gold or silver powder.
Its modest 500ml capacity will accommodate a snack or a single course light meal.
You can choose between 3 designs of well-known reproductions of wooden prints:

  1. Akafuji (Red Mount Fuji) is a traditional illustration of the Mount Fuji. When the sky is clear, the Mt. Fuji is colored in red by the sunset light.
    One of the most known picture is the Gaifû kaisei, "Mount Fuji in Clear Weather" also known as Red Fuji from the "thirty-six views of Mount Fuji" of the woodprint master Katsuhika Hokusaï.
  2. Nami ni Fuji: from the woodprint master Katsuhika Hokusaï "thirty-six views of Mount Fuji", the most famous "great wave off the Kanagawa Coast".
  3. Sharaku, one of the greatest masters of Japanese woodblock printing, especially known for his truthfully representations of Kabuki actors.

Lunch box size: about 16.5 x 11 x 5 cm.
This box has a single 500 ml compartment with a tight lid featuring a silicone seal (however, avoid really liquid sauces that might overflow).

Also includes:

  • A fastening belt.

Can be put in a micro-waves and into dishwasher.


  • Outside cover with urethane based paint.
  • Box and compartment made of saturated polyester resin (polyethylene terephthalate - PET) and Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene (ABS). Stand up from -20 to +140°C.
  • Removable compartment made of polypropylene. Stand up from -20 to +120°C.
  • Top lid seal made of silicon. Stand up from -20 à +230°C.
