Daruma are lucky charms dolls made of papier-mache.
They depict the monk Bodhidharma (called Daruma in Japanese), the father of Zen Buddhism. He is often depicted with gruff look, with a shaggy beard and big crystal clear eyes topped by bushy eyebrows.
On the socks' bottoms is a Japanese proverb, often tied with daruma: the ups and downs of life (literally, falling 7 times and getting up 8 times)
Get your feet some comfort by wearing Japanese tabi split toe socks. Great for everyday use as well at home. A must have with flip flops or round-toe shoes.
