Koinobori literally means "carp streamer". Shaped like windsocks and hung on a mast, they are put on display to celebrate the "Children's day" (Kodomo no Hi), particulary boys, since each set consists of: a big black carp for the father, a smaller red one for the mother, then even smaller ones in different colors for each boy in the family.
As carps fight their way up swift-running streams and cascades, they symbolize strength, courage and perseverance.
Includes 60 sticky memos, 30 for each color.
Size: about 7.1 x 2.7 cm
